Dibrugarh, NEIRBC, 10 April 2018: The North East India Regional Bishop’s Council (NEIRBC) began their meeting at Christashram in the Diocese of Dibrugarh. The Council is the Apex Body of the Catholic Church in North East India, consisting of the Archbishops and Bishops of the 15 Dioceses. Most of the members arrived at Dibrugarh on 09 April and the meeting began with the Concelebrated Eucharist presided over by Most Rev. Dominic Jala Sdb, Archbishop of Shillong who is the President of the Council.
At the beginning of the Eucharist, Most Rev. Joseph Aind Sdb, Bishop of Dibrugarh, welcomed all the members to the Diocese of Dibrugarh. The meeting will review various aspects of Life of the Church in the North East India. It will also make plans for further development in the future.
Most Rev. Dominic Jala in his words of introduction said that the presence of the Bishops in Dibrugarh is a sign of solidarity and unity with the Diocese of Dibrugarh. He assured special prayers for the Bishop of Dibrugarh for his good health.
